HISTORY OF THE LODGE
A part of Grand Lake since the 1930's Daven Haven Lodge has only had 3 long-term owners since its conception, beginning with Lester and Cornelia Piper and Cornelia's mother Mrs. Davis. The main road to Grand Lake was the street in front of the present main lodge, originally made up of a gas station and several small tourist cabins. The original tourist cabins still remain on the back of the property and are used as employee housing. The Pipers and Mrs. Davis owned and operated Daven Haven until 1968 when they sold to Tom and Betty Sowell who continued to build up their clientele and great reputation into the 80's when they left Daven Haven. Tom and Betty bid farewell and the lodge remained closed for a few years and in 1990 reopened with its present owners Greg & Carey Barnes, their sons Dustin & Patrick. Now in their 34th season, the Daven Haven atmosphere is still a comforting place to come back to time and time again, with several familiar faces welcoming back our long time guests and greeting our new ones.
The Daven Haven Lodge is nestled inside the Village of Grand Lake, two city blocks off the main street. Our cabins offer a comfortable sense of seclusion and affords each traveler the opportunity to relax in a home-away-from-home atmosphere. Our individual cabins sleep from one to eight guests - all have fully equipped kitchens and some have wood-burning stoves,and fireplaces. The casual eclectic furnishings are a perfect partner to the natural unassuming beauty of the Daven Haven Lodge.

During the summer season we offer, horse shoes, tented gathering space for meals, community grill and a campfire ring. Please inquire about use of the camp fire ring when booking.

Two private bedrooms Queen and a Twin in one room, two doubles in the other bedroom which also has a flat screen TV. SMALL living room with a fireplace, flatscreen TV and a full kitchen with coffee maker, microwave, basic spices for cooking, paper towels and coffee filters.Full bath with shower and tub. Sits on the south side of the garden patio.
Pine Cone

Our largest cabin with two private bedrooms, with one Queen and two Twins in the larger bedroom and a smaller second bedroom with a Double bed. The living room has a sleeper sofa and open wood burning fireplace. Flat screen TV in living room. Full Kitchen with coffeemaker, microwave, basic spices for cooking, coffee filters and paper towels. Full bath with shower and tub. This is a pet friendly cabin.

Ponderosa Pine

Nestled in the back corner of the property. Private bedroom with a Queen bed and Twin sofa sleeper love seat in the kitchen/dinning room area . Full kitchen with coffee maker, microwave, basic spices for cooking, coffee filters and paper towels. Kitchen window facing the woods. It has a sheltered front porch facing the lodge and a small sitting area with 2 overstuffed chairs & TV. Bathroom has shower only.

This cabin sits at the back of the property and has one large room with a Queen bed and a queen murphy bed with memory foam mattress, opening up to a large full kitchen with coffee maker, microwave, basic spices for cooking, paper towels and coffee filters. Bathroom has a shower only. Porch faces towards the lodge. This is a pet friendly cabin.

One room cabin sits at the back of the property with a Queen bed, couch and a large kitchen looking out into the wooded area. Includes microwave, coffeemaker, basic spices for cooking, papertowels and coffee filters. Porch faces towards the lodge. Bathroom has a shower only. This is a pet friendly cabin.

Downtown Lake Views
For those wanting to be closer to the shops, restaurants and action of downtown Grand Lake. Located at the end of mainstreet with views of the lake. Wildwood Cabins is within walking distance of all the amenities that Grand Lake has to offer.
These cozy cabins with fireplaces are a perfect mountian town getaway open year round. Sorry, these cabins are not pet friendly.

One bedroom cabin sits at the front of the property with a single bedroom and Queen bed. Bath, kitchen, living room with fireplace. Perfect front porch to sit and sip your coffee or wine while enjoying the people watching and view of the lake. Includes microwave, coffeemaker, basic spices for cooking, papertowels and coffee filters. Bathroom has a shower only.

One bedroom cabin sits at the center of the property with a single bedroom and Queen bed. Bath, kitchen, living room with fireplace. Tucked back porch to sit and sip your coffee or wine while enjoying your lake view. Includes microwave, coffeemaker, basic spices for cooking, papertowels and coffee filters. Bathroom has a shower only.
Big Pine

Two bedroom cabin sits along Hancock Street. One queen and one full bedroom. Bath, kitchen, living room with fireplace. Enjoy the front porch and yard while sipping your favorite bevarage. Includes microwave, coffeemaker, basic spices for cooking, papertowels and coffee filters. Bathroom has a shower only.

SLEEPS 2-5
One bedroom cabin located at the back of the property. One queen and one twin bedroom with a sleeper sofa in the living room. Bath, kitchen, living room with log ceiling. Private patio area. Includes microwave, coffeemaker, basic spices for cooking, papertowels and coffee filters. Bathroom has a shower only.

Comcast is our provider. We have the highest speed update available in our area.
If we have several guests on at the same time it does slow down our speed. Cabins to the back of the property may at times be the first to be effected during a slow down. During storms.... winter or summer, cable in our area may to "go out" for a period of time.

A covered pic-nic table area to serve family meals prepared from your cabin or ordered as a drop-off from our culinary team in the kitchen. In this space you may enjoy your own food and beverage along with games and activities or just chillaxing!
We ask that you be sure to clean up all of your food and securely pack and store all leftovers inside your cabin taking all trash to the dumpster at the back of the main lodge building.
OUTDOOR GARDEN, PATIO & PUB
We have been voted "Best Outdoor Patio" in Grand county. WE absolutely LOVE our patio dining areas in the summertime. Large Ferns with beautiful garden baskets and flowers flowing everywhere in bistro lighting making our evening dining areas one of Grand lakes favorite summer dining spots.
Any menu item or beverage may be served outside with an extended area for PETS on a leash. If your pet needs to use the restroom please be sure to request a bag to clean up after your best friend. We greatly appreciate your attention to this small detail.

GUEST CAMPFIRE
The fire-ring is available on a reservation basis only, as it is frequently used as a party venue with an attached fee.
Please see site fees for the cost.
Should just you and your family want to sit and enjoy a mountain camp fire during your stay, please check with the front desk to be sure it is not already booked with an event, that there is not a fire-ban in place, and to obtain a list of rules and information in building and extinguishing your fire properly.

Respect Our Wildlife
Bears are a nightly occurrence and they will ransack any food left outside while tearing into the trash cans in a heartbeat.
If you do encounter a bear "don't freak out" they are used to humans and will most likely just walk the other direction should you come upon them. Be calm and walk away. If you have a pet, take them with you and do not let them loose from their leash. Moose are additionally common at Daven Haven. They are more aggressive than the bears and you definitely do not want to engage with them in any way, they are quick and agile. Elk can also be seen but are far less aggressive and will most likely walk away. PLEASE do not feed the Fox! They can be very tame at times but are still wild animals not to be treated like pets.

All Cabins are subject to a three to five night minimal on holidays, if you are trying to book a holiday and it will not go through online please call us to reserve your cabin.
THERE ARE A FEW SPECIFIC CABINS THAT ALLOW PETS. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON BRINGING A PET THAT YOU HAVE BOOKED A PET FRIENDLY CABIN SHOWN ABOVE. THERE IS A $30.00 CHARGE PER PET PER NIGHT. 2 PETS MAXIMUM. IF YOU BRING A PET AND IT IS NOT A PET FRIENDLY CABIN YOU WILL BE FINED UP TO $500.00.
Cancellations
Cancellations and shortened stays made at least 30 days in advance of your arrival will be refunded less a $45 per unit cancellation fee. Cancellations made less than 30 days are non-refundable. Groups of three or more cabins are subject to a 60 day cancellation period.
Written notice is required for any cancellation. Fax is NOT available; E-mail is accepted. All cancellations are only valid with a written return confirmation from the reservation desk at Daven Haven Lodge/Wildwood Cabins. If you do not have your cancellation confirmed in writing from us we cannot guarantee your cancellation actually went through. PLEASE BE SURE YOU HAVE WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION OF ANY CANCELLATION.
For bookings made within 6 months of arrival If cancellation occurs 30 days or more before arrival-fee is $45 per cabin and balance is refunded If cancellation occurs within 30 days of arrival - minus a $45 fee per cabin the remaining deposit can be applied as partial payment towards a future stay until October 5th of the same year. If not rebooked all deposits are forfeited.
For bookings made 7 months or more of arrival If cancellation occurs within 90 days of initial booking-fee is $45 per cabin and balance is refunded If cancellation occurs after 91 days of initial booking and prior to 30 days of arrival - a cancellation fee equal to one-night stay will be deducted from the payments made and the balance is refunded.
If cancellation occurs within 30 days of arrival - a cancellation fee equal to one-night stay will be deducted from the payments made and the remaining deposit can be applied as partial payment towards a future stay until October 5th with in the same year.
Extra Charges
You may be billed for any missing or permantly damaged items including, but not limited to, pillows, blankets, kitchen cooking items and utensils, decor & furniture. (glass ware excluded)
Pets are only allowed in the Pine Cone, Ponderosa Pine and Yarrow cabins. Pet Fee $30/pet/per night. Two pet maximum. If you bring a pet to a non-pet friendly cabin you will be fined up to $500.00.
